Interests (in no particular order): Ham radio (call sign KE3VIN). Non-terrestrial communications particularly as it relates to high bandwidth. Radio monitoring particularly police scanners, shortwave, MILCOM, UTE and WUN and various odd and weird signal decoding. Basically I am just a radio nut. Severe weather, hurricanes, and general weather observation. Train watching and other large machine observation such as aircraft (child hood fascination with large machinery what can I tell you?) Writing computer programs of all types but primarily Perl, Java, PHP and Python. Experimenting with Geolocation, GPS gadgets and Geocaching.
