For non iPod applications I use a program called SSLexplorer for outside access back in and for inside the house I use a Squid proxy cache via SSL from server to server or I use SSH (which is SSL encryption).

For the iPod Touch/iPhone:

Some routers support SSL in but I donít think you can add certificates. For instance the newer D-links can support VPN. If you buy a Linksys WRT54G using Linux firmware (dd-wrt) you can do this in one package:
