With more and more folks switching off cable and broadcast television in favor of Internet vase television (IPTV) it becomes a challenge to keep up with emergency and pending disasters.

Here are some ways to receive weather alerting especially if you don't receive broadcast television.

OTR (Over the air [radio waves]):


This method can include emails (if you have a way of monitoring your in-box - there are tools for that), desktop applications that pop-up on alerts or just old fashioned screen watching. The Internet is of course subject to break down particularly when severe storms are near by. I recommend this as a first resort but not a last resort. See OTR above for more reliable methods.
