The installation of a police band radio monitor in a business establishment or motor vehicle, except in emergency or crime watch vehicles or in a place established by federal, state, county or municipal government for governmental purposes, by a person other than a radio or television station or a holder of a valid amateur radio operator or station license issued by the Federal Communications Commission, violates Florida State Law.

STATE OF FLORIDA

04/05 - The State of Florida is currently testing the new EDACS Pro-Voice Digital Statewide Trunked System. They will be switching all comms over to this system mid 2005.

BREVARD COUNTY

05/05 - Cocoa Police Dept. is now dispatching West Melbourne and Melbourne Village Police Depts.

03/05 - Palm Bay Police Dept. is getting new radios and will have all or some of the talkgroups encrypted

01/05 - BCFR is paging out Fire Rescue calls to Cocoa Fire Dept. on talkgroup 15-150.
Cocoa Police Dept. is paging out Fire Rescue calls to Cocoa Fire Dept. on talkgroup 11-061.

12/04 - Grant Volunteer Fire Dept. has disbanded because of a lack of volunteers. Station 85 is now closed. The area is now covered by stations 86 & 87.

01/04 - BCSO Cape Canaveral units have radios to communicate with Port Canaveral Security on 154.905.

12/03 - The Cape Canaveral 800 MHz trunked site is scheduled to be operational 2004/05. This site will also have all new frequencies.

12/03 - Rockledge Fire Rescue is now being dispatched by Brevard County Fire Rescue (Talkgroups 03-102, 03-012 etc.). The city also can page out Fire Rescue calls on talkgroup 06-015.

09/03 - Starting 10/01/03 Palm Bay Fire Rescue will handle calls on I95 from the Palm Bay City line to the Indian River County line.

07/03 - Starting 10/01/03 Brevard County will start providing fire services to the Deer Park and Deseret Ranch areas of Osceola County. Osceola County will provide fire services to the Fellsmere Grade area of Brevard County.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

800 MHZ TRUNKED SYSTEM
800 MHz TAC 1 Fire and Rescue traffic is being rebroadcast on 153.92 for the volunteers.
There are plans to add 5 additional frequencies to the West System. Unknown if or when this will happen.

Vero Beach Police Dept. was issued a new license for 460.40 MHz. Unknown use, possibly training or undercover work.

800 MHZ TRUNKED SYSTEM

01/05 - VCSO will start dispatching Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety on 02/01/05.

12/04 - VCSO started dispatching Daytona Beach Police Dept.on 12/01/04.

12/04 - VCSO started dispatching Deland Police Dept.on 10/01/04.

07/04 - VSCO is now dispatching Holly Hill Police Dept.

10/03 - Volusia County Emergency Communications Center (ECC) now dispatches the following:
Volusia County Fire Services
Holly Hill Fire Dept.
S. Daytona Fire Dept.
Deland Fire Dept.
Orange City Fire Dept.
EVAC Ambulance

10/03 - The Regional Public Safety Communications Center (Communication Interlocal Agency) now dispatches the following:
Port Orange Police & Fire Depts.
Edgewater Police & Fire Depts.
New Smyrna Beach Police & Fire Depts.
Ponce Inlet Fire Dept.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

800 MHZ TRUNKED SYSTEM

05/03 - It looks like St. Lucie County is changing the way they have the 800 MHz Trunked System setup. The West System is going to be added into the main system.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Dept. has renewed their license for 460.025 and 460.075 MHz. Unknown use, possibly training, undercover work or trunked system backup.

ORANGE COUNTY

800 MHZ TRUNKED SYSTEM

07/03 - Orange County is changing and updating some of the talkgroups on their system. The sheriffs are getting new Motorola XTS 5000 portable radios. These radios have 500 talkgroups and are able to talk in analog, digital and encrypted modes.

OSCEOLA COUNTY

06/04 - Their has been some discussion of having the Osceola County Sheriff's Department taking over dispatching for Kissimmee and St. Cloud Police Depts.

01/04 - Osceola County has renumbered all of their fire stations inclunding the cities of Kissimmee and St. Cloud.

POLK COUNTY

03/05 - The Town of Mulberry is now on the Polk County 800 MHz Trunked System and is no longer using their VHF frequency.

LAKE COUNTY

04/05 - Lake County Fire Rescue has renumbered all the county fire stations.
