PALM BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT
The following information was not obtained from official sources.
Palm Bay Police Officers are dispatched by their ID number, which is also the officer's car number.
Officer's usually take their cars home with them when off duty. They use the same car each day unless it
is in for maintenance or repair. Spare cars usually do not have numbers on them or are the older cars.
Officers rotate shifts and do not necessarily patrol the same zone every day.
Supervisor car's are marked with their rank (chevron) on the front sides of the unit.
Traffic Enforcement cars are marked "Traffic Enforcement".
Most other cars are Zone Units. Zone units are assigned to one of the twelve TAC zones.
