POLK COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD
The School Board is assigned talkgroups 28432 - 31600 for future use.
SYSTEM NOTES
This is a Motorola Type II Smartzone System. Transmitter towers are located at Lakeland,
Polk City, Winter Haven, Dundee, Fort Meade, Bartow, Frostproof, E. Lake Wales and
Davenport.
c = Control Channel
r = Repeater
The county comms are simulcasted on each of the transmitter towers along with the local comms.
Each site has two control channel, one for the county system and one for the local system.
The four local systems are used only for backup if the main system fails.
- Only the repeater output frequencies are listed. The repeater input frequencies are 45.00 MHz
lower.
- Most of the City Agencies are only using their Dispatch Talkgroup. Some are still using
their old VHF/UHF radios for car to car. The Sheriff and all Police Departments still are using
155.37 for intercity communications.
- Bartow Police Dept. also dispatches the Bartow Fire Dept. The plan is to patch 800 MHz channel 1
to VHF channel 1 154.385. This is to allow the volunteers to continue to have access to
communications and will allow paging to existing radios.
- Bayflight/Lifeflight Helicopters operate on Disaster 15 (5232).
- When using the "Control Channel Only" mode (BC780xlt), use "Plan2".
- It does not sound like the FHP talkgroups are active any more. They probably have switched to
the new statewide digital trunked system.
- Polk County Fire Control also dispatches Auburndale and Winter Haven Fire Depts.
