NOTES
  1. All radios in the system have this talkgroup.
  2. Used during hurricanes and severe weather for weather announcements, damage
     assessment reports, etc. Also used for Space Shuttle and Rocket launch status.
     All 800 MHz radios in the county have this talkgroup.
  3. Alert channels are used for special events or details (Space Coast Stadium, County Fair, SeaFeast, etc.).
     During an emergency or evacuation the talkgroups are assigned as follows:
        Alert 1 - North County
        Alert 2 - Central County
        Alert 3 - South County
        Alert 4 - SCAT Evacuation Transportation
     All radios in the system have these talkgroup.
  4. County Government talkgroups are referred to as "Alpha", "Bravo", "Charlie", "Delta" and "Echo"
  5. Ryder Truck Rental does the maintenance and repair on the SCAT Buses.
       (Callsign: "Ryder Base")
  6. Used by Traffic Operations - Signals Division, Road & Bridge etc. to communicate
     with County Control.
  7. MPD North is used to dispatch both North and South Districts when there are limited dispatchers.
  9. PBPD East is used to dispatch both East and West Districts when there are limited dispatchers.
  9. Palm Bay Police Dept. talkgroups ERT 1 and ERT 2 are in Aegis Digital Mode.
 10. Also used by Community Service Units.

Only the repeater output frequencies are listed. The repeater input frequencies are 45.00 MHz lower.

Not all talkgroups are active, some talkgroups are assigned but not used and some are
for future use. Other talkgroups are only used during a major emergency.

Wide Area = County Wide - Comms are repeated on all towers.
Satellite Receivers are located in Mims, Sharpes, North Melbourne and Grant.

All telephone interconnect activity is on the Channel 2 frequency of each system  (866.825,
866.3250 and 866.5875).

MELBOURNE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S MDT SYSTEM
Melbourne Police Dept. dispatches their not in progress (non-emergency) calls via Mobile Data
Terminals (MDT). By using an MDT system an officer can now bypass the dispatcher for information
such as license, registration and warrant checks, report numbers etc. This frees up the voice
talkgroups for emergency use and other traffic. He can get the information faster and more accurately
because there is no repeating the spellings of names back and forth between the dispatcher.
When a dispatcher sends out a non-emergency call the officer's MDT beeps alerting him to the call. He
responds by reading his terminal and acknowledging the dispatcher by hitting an "en route" (10-51) button.
When the officer arrives at the address displayed on his MDT he presses an "on scene" (10-97) button
signaling the dispatcher of the officer's status. Once the officer is finished on that call he can place
himself back in service by pressing the "completed assignment" (10-98) button. Because an officer may not
always be in his car or be by an MDT, voice channels will always remain a crucial link in the communication
system. Melbourne's MDT's use the cellular phone system and not the 800 MHz Trunked System.
Cocoa PD, Cocoa Beach PD, West Melbourne PD and some Palm Bay PD units also have MDT's but do not seem to
be using them for dispatching calls.
